About This Opportunity

Responsibilities: -Grow and harvest fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs using sustainable farming practices. -Maintain greenhouse, hydroponic, aeroponic, orchard, and field crop operations. -Assist with produce washing, packaging, storage, and distribution through the farm's packing house. -Support nutrition and wellness initiatives aimed at reducing diet-related health issues. -Participate in community outreach, educational programs, and volunteer engagement activities. -Monitor crop health, pest management, soil quality, and food safety standards. -Ensure compliance with organizational, agricultural, and safety regulations. -Ability to operate farming tools and equipment safely. -Understanding of hydroponic and greenhouse growing systems is desirable. -Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills. -Ability to work independently and follow established procedures. -Ability to stand, bend, kneel, lift, and carry materials regularly. -Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more, as required. -Ability to perform repetitive manual labor associated with farming and produce handling. -Commitment to House of Hope's mission of serving individuals and families facing hunger and hardship. -Positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and program participants. -Dependable, detail-oriented, and community-focused Time Commitment: Volunteer dates/times: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 9-11 and 1-3, Saturday 8-11. Impact: Growing Hope Farm has become an important resource in Martin County and the surrounding region, addressing food insecurity, health improvement through proper nutrition, and community sustainability. Mission: Growing Hope Farm is a program of House of Hope that exists to provide fresh, nutritious food to individuals and families experiencing hunger while helping people build skills and pathways toward self-sufficiency. The farm supports House of Hope's broader mission: "to empower our community to overcome hunger and hardship."
