About This Opportunity

Responsibilities:

-Greet clients and provide friendly, respectful customer service.

-Stock pantry shelves and maintain organized food displays.

-Sort, inspect, and shelve donated food items.

-Check food products for quality and expiration dates.

-Assist clients as they shop in the Client Choice Pantry.

-Prepare food packages and distribute groceries as needed.

-Help maintain pantry cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards.

-Assist with inventory counts and restocking activities.

-Support special food drives, holiday distributions, and community outreach events.

-Follow House of Hope policies and procedures while protecting client confidentiality.

Requirements:

-Commitment to House of Hope's mission and values.

-Friendly, dependable, and compassionate attitude.

-Ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

-Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift moderate-weight food items for extended periods.

-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. -Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

-Completion of House of Hope volunteer application and orientation process. -Reliable transportation and punctual attendance for scheduled shifts.

-Preferred Previous volunteer, customer service, retail, or food pantry experience.

-Preferred Experience working with community service organizations or food distribution programs.

-Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, staff, and fellow volunteers.

Time Commitment:

Flexible scheduling M-F, 9-12 and 1-3. Must be 18+. Great for groups!

This volunteer role directly supports House of Hope's efforts to provide food assistance and improve the well-being of residents throughout Martin County.
