About This Opportunity
Responsibilities may include: -Greet customers and donors in a friendly and welcoming manner. -Assist customers with locating merchandise and answering basic questions. -Receive, sort, inspect, and prepare donated items for sale. -Price merchandise according to House of Hope guidelines. -Organize and stock sales floor displays to maintain an attractive shopping environment. -Sort, hang, fold, and arrange clothing, household goods, books, furniture, and other donated items. -Operate the cash register and process sales transactions, as assigned. -Assist with bagging purchases and carrying items for customers when needed. -Help maintain store cleanliness, including dusting, sweeping, straightening displays, and organizing storage areas. -Monitor merchandise quality and remove damaged or unsellable items. -Support special sales events, promotions, and seasonal displays. -Follow House of Hope policies and procedures, including safety and loss prevention practices. -Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community members to support the mission of House of Hope. -Represent House of Hope in a professional and positive manner at all times. Qualifications -Friendly and dependable with a positive attitude. -Ability to work effectively with diverse customers, donors, staff, and volunteers. -Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. -Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds, with reasonable accommodations if needed. -Previous retail, customer service, or thrift store experience is helpful but not required. -Commitment to supporting House of Hope's mission and serving the community. Time Commitment: Choose from below... Stuart Thrift Stores: Monday & Friday: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Wednesday: 12:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Hobe Sound Thrift Store Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Indiantown Thrift Store Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Impact: By volunteering in a House of Hope thrift store, you directly contribute to funding vital programs and services that help individuals and families in our community achieve stability and self-sufficiency.
